Why in the world am I moving to iPhone

I don't expect to see Android 10 (Q) on any of my existing devices - I tried Lineage 17.1 briefly on my Moto X4, and was not impressed - went back to the official Pie version. I've searched all the main hearing aids that are available through the VA, and most have a solution that will work with Android, but most of them require an extra device like the Oticon Streamer that I have with my current aids. Some claim to work with bluetooth directly, but only with specific phones - like the Pixels or newer Samsung or LGs - I don't want to have to buy new phones at inflated cost when I have an iPhone that is supposed to work directly with nothing extra needed. I'll know more when I can get an appointment with VA audiology later this year.

Then explain how the OP has a 5 and 7 year old iPhone and they still work. They don’t have 4000mAH batteries.

I agree... The majority of iPhone users I know (they trump us Android users considerably) are running the older 6-8 only knowing one with anything newer, an XR. Very rarely do I hear any of them complain about battery life. And really can't compare apples to oranges here.

I think iPhone users are just used to having to recharge their phone at least daily - some that I knew were astounded when I said my Androids could typically go 2 to 3 days between charges.I can adjust to charging more often, if I need to, and don't want anything bigger than around the 5.2 inches of my Moto X4, for instance.

No, they don't trump us....there are more Android devices than IOS out there.Screenshot_20200503-170839_Chrome.jpeg

It is... state of the art. The end game solution.

Absolutely you need to do your homework and talk doctors on the cutting edge when possible. 30ish is a good age for sharp MDs in tune with the latest/best technologies and options. It's a chore; anything worth doing is worth doing right.

Android Q has open a new door for these devices.
What was true a week or month ago may have changed drastically. So doing frequent and varied Goggle searches is important. Be a shame to miss out on new products that would serve you better.

Google has its issues but they are hell bent on being everyone's everything. Expect them to exploit this opportunity as their own age as well... real time motivation gets things done.

That’s the issue with Android, it wants to do everything for everybody. Jack of all trades, master of none. If you like variety then Android is your device. If you like perfection in certain areas you are probably an iPhone person.

They have been promising Android compatibly for years and it doesn't exist. Talk to any well informed audiologist.

Sure, they still "work" but I don't call a device that can't get more than 2 hours of SOT a "mobile device".

The older iPhones are pretty easy to take apart and swap it out, and if anything a Mophie case is cheap now.

But the newer ones are hell to disassemble, so having good charging habits will go a long way for those who want to use the thing for 4 or more years.

1820mAh in the 8/SE 2020 will turn into 1000mAh after two years. What kind of usage can you get with 1000mAh lol?

A battery swap and/or a Mophie/Smart Battery case will be very necessary.

The original SE has a 1624mAH battery I believe. I still have mine and it continues to get through a day without any issue.

The thing that’s important to remember, I think, is most of the people who will buy one are not power users. I don’t know about nonreplaceable, you may be right. I guess we’ll see over time because they are out now.

It’s the same thing with heart rate monitoring and the Apple Watch.
Apple saw an opportunity, perfected it, and they own the market.
I know people who use Apple devices just because of that.

Not with their modern devices.

Yeah my iPhone 8+ has a good battery life! Probably around 6hrs sot, my iPhone 7 does as long as you don't actually use it. If you start using it then maybe 2-3hrs screen on time.

Wasn't the iPhone SE pretty much an iPhone 6 in a smaller package? I know my husband and brother got excellent battery life on their SE phones.
Thats what I heard also never used it , ive had those others i mentioned and now just iPhone 8+ and 11 pro
