Why is almost all my storage used on my Galaxy S3?

So basically i factory reset my phone because my phone was getting laggy. When the factory reset was finished, i setup my info (gmail, name, country, etc). I noticed that 10GB was used and i was left with 2 GB. I never had this problem before. Applications used about 258MB, Pictures and Videos took up 59.84MB, Audio took up 20KB, downloads is about 687MB and Miscellaneous files took up 517MB. It says Available: 1.94GB. I dont know why. Please help
