3G connection really poor on Galaxy S6E compared to HTC M7/M8

I recently moved from HTC M8 to an S6E. I live in dubai and the connection here is pretty good (was good with my previous phone). On my HTC M8 i never used 4G because i was more than happy with the really good 3G speed and connectivity. I always chose WCDMA/GSM (auto connect).

Now in my S6E the speed i get when i choose WCDMA/GSM is horrible. However, when i choose LTE, i get really good speed. The reason why i never choose LTE is because of how much the battery drains out. The data consumption is my second problem on LTE.

I have tried changing the APN but no use. Is there any possible way to fix this ? And id really appreciate if you reply in a simple way

It could be typical of the differences in the phones (I don't own either one) or you could have a defective S6. You'd need someone using the same LTE frequencies as your carrier does (it looks like 1800MHz, whether you're with Etisalat or du), on an S6, to tell you whether it's normal for an S6 of your model (G920F or some other letter at the right end) to have a lot of battery drain on LTE. If it's not, the phone is under warranty, so it should be either replaced or repaired. If it's normal, though, you'll have to live with it.
