Why is my brand new Galaxy S6 battery draining?

Brand New Galaxy S6 Battery Draining

I bought my s6 3 days ago.I am rarely using it as i didnt get my nano sim yet to use my s6.One charge of 100% just gives me 14hrs of standby time with just 33mins of screen on time (low brightness).everything is closed except wifi.The main problem is over night draining which takes about 50-55% of my battery (with all apps closed).I have read on net that it takes around just 5-7% of battery over night for others and they are getting 12 hrs of battery life with moderate usage so why is my battery acting weired.Should i take it back to the shop as its just been 3 days since i bought it and i have rarely used it.

Welcome.

What do your battery usage stats reveal after such an overnight drain, in Settings, Battery?
Also, if you can touch the battery graph to expand it, what is revealed about your signal strength, and awake times? You may have a bad wakelock, which would be indicated in that graph.
If you post screenshots of both those graphs here, we'll attempt a diagnosis. You will have to register here as a member to do that, but you are very welcome to do so.

i have switched off everything (bluetooth,nfc,gps,location,sync) and only my wifi remains on , but still when i read reviews of battery life of s6 on net , i noticed that almost everywhere its like 10-12 hrs of battery with moderate usage which invloves everything(browsing,music,video playback) and battery drains about 5-7% overnight.But mine is horrible especially over night it drains about 45-50% and every hour on standby its taking like 9-10% of battery.

So please advise me should i take it back to from where i bought it as its just 4 days old and i hardly used it , they may send it to samsung service centre or replace it because s6 has got 73 hrs of standby time according to a trusted site test and my s6 just give 14-15 hrs of standby in which i used the phone ( means screen on ) for 35 mins that was also mainly monitoring my battery status and hardly 10 mins of bbm and one more thing i close all the apps after using them so there is no concept of apps running in the background as a reason of battery draining.

I would take it back! Or do a factory reset after admittedly light use
my battery shows 71% after 12 hours since the last charge

just did factory data reset , lets see how it goes now otherwise most probably i would take it back tomorrow.Btw thanks for your help and do you also use galaxy s6 as you said your battery is 71% after 12 hrs since last charge.

Yes I have had mine for about a month and have yet to experience any battery drain. The first thing I did with the phone was to disable most Google services and the preloaded Samsung apps

I haven't disabled anything and I have about 200 apps. my battery drain overnight is 1% /hour

There is something wrong with your phone or app. I have about 100 apps. No problem here.

I'm having the same issues here. I've had this phone since february 3rd. I've tried a factory reset as well as disabling everything except wifi. My battery goes down to around 50% after using it for about an hour for music stored on my phone. If I don't let it charge overnight it will be at about 70 percent from the point when I take it off to the time when I wake up. I was thinking of going to sprint and getting the s6 edge plus for the better vattery, but maybe I will just try getting another regular s6

EDIT: I also have great service where I live, so it's not constantly searching either.
