Why is my earphone control button not working when plugged in my phone

[Android Central Question]

When ever I plug my earphone in and want to skip a music nor pick up incoming calls with the control button is doesn't work and it just started this fault newly and have tried using another and it still don't work

It sounds like there is something in your 3.5mm jack. look in there and maybe try to blow it out or something. If that plug doesn't go in all the way it will affect everything with how that works.

Welcome to Android Central! Are the earphones specifically "Made for iPhone"? If so, then the configuration of its plug may not be correct for Android (since iPhones use a different headphone jack configuration).
