why is my gmail notifier so late in notifying on my galxy s9 plus?

I used to get an instant gmail notify as soon as i get an email on my Iphone 6 plus , however I preordered my Galaxy s9 plus and received it on Tuesday , and I've tried all the possible ways that i'm aware off to get the gmail notification as soon as i get an email , yet it takes between 5 to 10 minutes to get such notification !
like today , i got 5 important emails notification 5, 7 and 10 minutes late !

I think you should replace your S9, it looks you have only issues others don't.

Turn off the battery optimization for this and other important apps. It's one of the first things I do.

Think it's not one person submitting the question, anyone without a account submitting a question will show up as Android Central question account. At least that's what I was told long back when I thought one person named Android Central question was submitting all the questions/issues

I'm having same problem with all notifications on Galaxy S9 Plus.

Its definitely the power-saving measures. But Gmail is not listed there as an app you can choose not to put to sleep.

You're correct. It is not one of the apps that can be put to sleep and I also get my Gmail notifications late or none at all. I have a Galaxy Tablet and I hear notifications and 10 minutes later I hear it on my phone.
