Why is my LG G6 beeping and flashing the lightning symbol while it's charging in my car?

While trying to charge my LG G6 in my car the lightning bolt is flashing and there is a beeping sound. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting nothing worked. Anybody have this problem?

I've been having to the same problem off and on for the past three or four days. I've tried updating software and shutting down completely. Now my battery indicator is flashing a small arrow even when the phone isn't charging.
