Why is my phone display freezes, but audio is not affected?

I use a Blackview Bv9500 (Android OS 8.1) and the inconsistent issue (doesn't always occur, but it's annoying) only happens when I am using the YouTube app. It occurs whether or not the Picture-in-Picture option is enabled or disabled.

My phone screen/display becomes non-responsive as I listen to the audio of whatever video is playing.

I always have to restart my phone (press & hold Power button) to "fix" it. Then after my phone is booted up again, I get a SimProcessor in my notifications.
