Why is my phone stuck at Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please selcect recovery mode in Kies & try again?

Even tried following the steps in below link, but keep getting fail. On my phone in the downloading screen, it shows 2 lines of secure check: fail. That mean anything?

Wind mobile. I went through Samsung live chat, and he referred me to my carrier or send it to samsung for service. I'm worried because the binary shows 8, which I understand is a no no. I just got the phone in Dec, so i have warranty, but will Wind help me fix it if Binary shows a number?

Now my phone won't even turn on. Last night, when I try to start in recovery mode, vol up, power, home, it just shows the same screen. I saw a thread saying press the middle of volume button, and when I tried that today, I finally saw the Samsung logo. But thats it, then it does nothing, does not turn on.

I think you may have bricked it. Was that ROM for your device?

The second link where i tried to reinstall? yes i found the one for my device and carrier.
Is this unfixable now and i have to buy new phone?

There is a send off service that can unbrick a device. Also there is a device called a jtag. You can try either.

Im having the same issue! bought a sprint phone on accident from ebay was told from sprint guy i could flash the phone and it would work on Verizon. i tried and the first attempt said failed. i tried again to the same result. i tried to back out of the program and i got the same message he did. is there anyway i can finish the root?
or undo it?

Can you still boot into download mode? If so, follow the instructions here:

http://forums.androidcentral.com/sp...-30-2012-sprint-only-unroot-return-stock.html

to get your phone back to stock Sprint configuration. If you can't get into download mode, you're hard bricked, I suspect.

I had the same problem and figured out that I was just WAY overthinking the problem. All you have to do is close Odin, reopen it and load the Recovery.tar file and hit start. it resets the phone and you are back to square one. Also i realized that i'm an ***** and didnt pay attention and tried to root with the wrong ROM (i9300).

so.... I'm having a similar problem. Obviously I'm a "noob" but I was trying to root my vz galaxy 3 using odin. I downloaded the root file from this video How to Root Verizon Galaxy S3 SCH-I535! | Galaxy S3 Root. my phone alternates between the samsung kies warning listed above but i can still get into the download screen using the wolume down, home and power key. But for whatever reason, the phone won't root. I've used different ports on my laptop it keeps sticking at system.img.ext4 it moves slowly but gets to the same part every time. right above the "d" in ID:COM. my reason for rooting in the first place was to put the multi view on here.

this is the same issue I am now having, the only difference is I can go into odin mode, and I can add a custom recovery, but no root and my odin also stops at system.img.ext4 at the same point everytime I try to flash back to stock. any help guys? sorry I am also on vzw I535. thanks for any help

I downloaded and was in middle of putting in my phone and Windows on the computer crashed...which in return gives me the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue", I went to Kies on the computer to try and fix, but Kies just keeps non-stop searching and never find device (computer does tho)

Input greatly needed, just signed up on this site, so please PM me.

any help appreciated...custom binary dowload also shows #3? cant explain that

Shawn,
If I understand you correctly, you were trying to root your phone and sometime during the process Windows crashed. Here's where I'm kind of weak on what's happening:
- the phone won't boot at all, or it shows you some message about the firmware update failing, and then you can't do anything else with it?
- or you just want to get back to square one so that you can can try rooting again?

Which item are you choosing in Kies: Tools -> Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation?
Is your phone in Download mode when you run Kies?

I have a Samsung Mega 6.3 LTE and I am reading all of this stuff and no one seems to understand. When we say they is no way to go into recovery then no matter what we do it will not go into recovery mode. I have been stuck on the logo screen for a week and I used Odin but Odin did not work on any of the software I got from this site. Then I was told to use Kies and there my screen jumped to a firmware upgrade encountered and issues. When I try to use Kies again it tells me that it don't recognize my device, I have tried this over and over and still nothing. My phone have not been rooted the phone is new, my problem came in when my phone showed a message READY FOR UPDATES..... When it downloaded the updated it turned itself off and from there was stuck on the loading screen. Right now it will ONLY go into Odin mode and it always fails when I try to use Odin..CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME GET MY PHONE WORKING?????

Your best bet is to take it in to AT&T and let them fix/replace it, since your problem is a result of a failed update.

The only firmware I could find for this phone is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2558602 - that appears to be 4.2.2 firmware; hopefully that's what you were updating TO (I didn't see any mention of 4.3, which would throw a monkey wrench into the works).

As I said - let AT&T fix this mess.

What were you doing when the problem occurred?
What model/carrier/region (if an International user)?
What firmware was on the phone when this happened?

If you haven't already, you should read through this whole thread and see if any of the suggestions apply to your situation.

I have a sprint galaxy s3. we tired to root it with odin but didnt work, now it says firmware upgrade encountered an issue. i cant get kies to reconize the phone to fix it. please help
