Why is my phone turning off and going into a coma in the middle of the night?

So I'm not sure if anyone has had any of these issues before. I have an Xfinity mobile phone galaxy S8 Plus. I put my phone on the charger. When I wake up, my phone is completely off and unresponsive. Like a coma. The only way to get it on is to hit the on-off button and hold I believe the down button at the same time for about 15 seconds. I then get a black reboot reset screen with options that are in different colors asking me what I wanna do. Some of the options are do a factory reset, do a factory reset and network reset, restart your phone normally, etc. This is what it looks like at about 2:21 in the video. https://youtu.be/MsvrH-0UeAc
I don't know why this happens but it's happened twice now and I use my phone for an alarm so waking up at noon is not good.

Welcome.
Out of curiosity, does it do the same thing during the night if it is not plugged into the charger?

Mav.

It does yeah, once when it was on a charging pad and the second time when it was just on an end table. Xfinitys solution would prob be doing a factory reset on the phone to fix the problem. I could just try that.

it might be a defect in the phone....better return it while u still can and get it replaced..and why did u buy an Xfinity version...I bought one for 625$ and it has no problems..unlocked s8
