Why is my Twitter App giving me the message Cannot retrieve Tweet at this time when opening Tweet links?

Twitter App "Cannot retrieve Tweet at this time" When Opening Tweet Links

This all started about a week ago - I regularly share tweets with my friends are we started to notice the official Twitter app refuses to open links to individual tweets. It doesn't matter what the tweet link is, if you open it with Twitter it just produces an error. The Twitter app got updated today but still the issue persists. It's happening not only on my device (OnePlus One) but also 3 of my friends who're all on Android have the exact same issue.

At first I thought it was Talon (I use this as my main Twitter client) generating links incorrectly but after just copying and pasting a link to an individual tweet from my PC browser, then trying to open it on my phone, the error still exists.

Any ideas? I can't find any other complaints about this but it's happening to everyone I know for 1-2 weeks now...

I see the same problem on my nexus 5. I end up copying the link and paste it in Chrome.

Having the same issue...no fix for me so far either.

I get the same thing, my Starbucks app has a similar problem. It works once after install, then can no longer connect.

This issue still seems to be occurring. At a loss as to how Twitter haven't fixed this yet, do they even know about it? Surely they do...
