Why is my voicemail giving me ghost notifications?

messages not in voicemail.

Galaxy s4 with Verizon. Says I have 5 new voicemail but when I go to voicemail it only plays my one saved message, the 5 are not in there.

I would give Verizon a call and see if they can reset your voice-mail system.
