Wifi disconnect automatically in Note 2 Gt-n7100

I have a Galaxy Note 2 device GT N7100. For a quite few times m encountering wifi problem in my device. Wifi automatically stop working even though it shows "connected to wifi". But wifi didn't work at all, also my all wifi devices works fine. When i restart my phone wifi works for say 15 to 20 minutes then again i have to face same problem.

I recently bought a used Samsung Note 2 GT N7100 and I was having problems with the wifi as well.

On both 4.3 and 4.4.2; the wifi button would turn on for a second and then turn itself off. In addition, when the the wifi did work; it would turn off when it was being used intensively, at random times or when I was playing a GPU intensive game.

I cannot tell if this is a pure hardware issue or a mix of hardware/software.

Eventually, I was able to get it a bit more stable (still drops at times but much better) with a combination of things.


1) I upgraded my OS from stock 4.3 => stock 4.4 => custom ROM electron DN4 along with rooting and the bootloader.
=> still seemed to give problems although maybe a litttle better
=> includes software tweaks like turning off location services and leaving WIFI always on.

2) I disassembled the note 2 back and reconnected the wifi cable and put kapton insulating tape over the ends.
I also scraped some contacts that seemed a little dull.

3) I had my router reassign another channel for the wifi and I set my ip address on the phone to static rather than DHCP.

The wifi seems better now but I still get the original drop out. Very frustrating but at least usable now.

The WiFi on my GT-7100 stopped working completely when I upgraded to 4.4.2
I downloaded 4.3 from the Samsung archive and flashed it with Odin. No problems but it did take ages to start up after flashing and rebooting.
4.3 seems really good and the wifi works.
