Why is the backlight off on my capacitive keys? (galaxy tab S3)

[Android Central Question]

When I first got the tablet the backlight on my "return" and "recent windows" keys would light up with every touch. But for some reason now the lights never turn on except for when I turn on my tablet. Anyone have any solutions? Looked thru all the settings and couldn't find anything

I also had the same problem. I found that having it on any sort of power saving mode disables it.
