Why is the Bluetooth So bad on Samsung Phones?

I am amazed how bad the Bluetooth on Samsung phones are.

I have the S10+, my wife has the S9+.

I have had nothing but issues with the Galaxy buds cutting out when phone is in my pocket.
It also happens when I connect to a Bluetooth speaker.

This last week, i bought a simple little speaker to use round the pool whilst on holiday.
It connected no problem at all, but when i played Spotify, tunein or anything, it sounded like the speaker had popped.

I thought it was faulty but when it says "Hello Pairing" or "Goodbye" when turned on and off, it sounds fine.
So I tried my wife's S9+ and exactly the same issue.

I then tried my Daughter's IPhone 6 and boom, no issue whatsoever, played as it should.

There is something wrong with how Samsung do their Bluetooth because this is ridiculous.

If it were just my phone I would say my S10 was faulty, but as it's multiple devices, it has to be something within the build of the Galaxy phones.

Any ideas please

Regards

Paul

I think it has more to do with pie, from what I'm hearing throughout the forums.

Every Android phone I've ever owned has worked best in its original UI. Updates screw up all of them. The only question is whether it screws up something you use. If not you love the new ui. I would prefer that all updates were optional.

It's not Pie, it may be Samsung's implementation of Pie - the Vendor part.

I just connected my Pixel 2, with the June update, to an old Bluetooth speaker (with mic) and I can't find a room in this large house I can take the speaker into and hear any difference in the signal. (And the speaker works fine on phone calls too - all over the house.)

So it's got to be part of the general Bluetooth problems we're seeing here with Samsung and Bluetooth (like phones making calls when they connect to car head units).

Good luck, you Samsung users. They'll probably come up with a fix soon. Until then, use Settings > About Phone > Feedback to let them know what problems you're having. If they get enough complaints, they may move faster. (Be nice, though. You get more flies ...)

Samsung dont have feedback , wish they did. but this bluetooth issue have been since Pie from Google forums to Samsung . Didn't hear many having issues on Oreo .

As I said, it must be something Samsung did to the vendor part of Pie. But it's not Pie - the non-vendor part - that's the problem.

No feedback, huh? No customer service either, worth speaking of. That's one of the big reasons I went to Google, even though Iost external SD. One phone call and you get someone who knows what they're talking about, and actually sounds eager to help you. Years with Samsung phones, and I never felt that way once.

Yeah their customer support nothing like Google's I've experienced , they have long way in that direction.

I have just done an update that was from May 1st and has made no difference to the connection to the bluetooth speaker, still sounds like cr4p!

PIE on Galaxy's really is garbage for Bluetooth!

Agreed. Samsung's customer service team really don't seem to have any knowledge with Samsung phones or products.

When the galaxy buds first came out and I had an issue with them I called customer service and the person asked me what are galaxy buds....

One of the reasons I got the S10+ is because I had such issues with Pixel 2XL and bluetooth (both on Oreo and Pie). The Pixel would never reliably connect to my Kenwood car stereo, I would constantly need to re-pair them. Since I got the S10+ it connects every time!

I haven't had any issues using my S10 with Bluetooth connecting to my car's Ford sync system and with my Samsung ear buds.

Connecting is not my issue apart from this one slasher, however, if I dare move from the perfect spot, ask hell breaks lose with the connection.

Yeah, wierd, I can put my hand in my pocket over phone and cuts out or sometimes can turn my head to look at something and cuts out. Almost like signal is real weak.

I have not had one update ruin my Bluetooth experience on any brand.

You missed the point. I said it would screw up SOMETHING not always bluetooth. If that something is not a feature you use then as I said you love your update. Read update threads. They all have complaints of some common problem.

Sorry but I'm not having issues with Bluetooth on the S10+. There is an issue that's been mentioned with a specific protocol but that only affects some Sony headphones getting the LDAC protocol to work.
