Why is the EVO out of stock?

Does BB let me charge the phone to my sprint account so i pay it when the next bill comes

ugh hate how they can't get it right the first time

It's not that they don't get it right the first time. I got my EVO on June 4 - Launch day and I have not had any of the problems other people have reported with their EVO... My screen does has never showed signs of coming up, I never had light leakage or WiFi reception problems others reported.

I think the main problem was expectations. If you told HTC and Sprint ahead of time "Your going to sell 2 million EVO's" they would have made sure they had 2 million in stock. Second biggest problem is HTC makes a bunch of different phones that all use very similar parts.. See Nexus One (all though they stopped making this one) Desire, Incredible, HD2, Aria and what not. Then add in the phones Motorola and Samsung make and you get the perfect storm of problems with parts....

Good luck man.... I would say just try the local stores.. I can tell you Wal-Mart (If they sell Sprint.... Not all Wal-marts carry sprint) has had them in stock almost every time I go in there.. I don't think people think of Wal-Mart when going for a phone....

Man, I just checked every where online and most places say anything from 1 - 2 weeks to 5- 10 weeks.. CRAZY!!!!!

I called a (local) Sprint store last Tuesday to ask if they had any Evo's and I was told to call back later that afternoon since they receive daily Evo's on their truck.

I called back, asked if they received any Evo's and they informed me that they did. They wouldn't tell me how many they received nor could they hold it for me.

However, I sure was able to buy it last Tuesday.
Love it so far.

You wanna know something interesting?

As soon as I arrived at the Sprint store, one of the associates asked if I could leave and come back in twenty minutes since they lied and told a customer (who they always have problems with) that they didn't have any Evo's.....(The associate made sure to place one on hold until I came back)

Ive been trying to find one for over a month & today was my lucky day
I called 4 Bestbuys in my area no EVOs to be had so I called a radio shack and they had 1.
I drove to store at the speed of 55mph in 40mph speed zone and snagged it fast.
The manger told me it was last one no other radio shacks in my area-(Virginia beach Va) had any in stock & weren't expecting new shipments anytime soon.

i found one at a sprint owned store over by my work, they said they get about 5 a day and are usually sold out within an hour, they have people calling daily to ask if they got more in and people are at the doors every morning when they open to get them

Well I have a bit of hope now. I switched my 3 lines from Verizon to Sprint last week, and I ended up getting a BlackBerry Bold, because the EVO's were out of stock (knowing I would be exchanging). I called order support today asking about an exchange, and she was able to order the EVO for me, and said to expect it in 3 to 7 days. I can manage that; can't deal with this BlackBerry much longer.

Why does everyone here nut-hug Best Buy? Thats almost as bad as getting a phone at wal-mart.
You think most reps give a damn you there? All they care about is what their indirect rep at verizon, att or sprint will bribe them with pizza parties or giftcards if they sell more of one brand over another.

They like the instant rebate.

It's the instant rebate, and if I had to rely on a rep from any store to show me around my new phone I'd stick a screwdriver in my eye.

How awesome.... In the mail today I got a "Reward Zone" promo thing from Best Buy that offers you 1,000 bonus reward points on top of your purchase if you buy an EVO before 7.31.10......... Did a quick check online and not a single store with in 100 miles has the black or white in stock...

What a promo.... Not like it matters since I got one all ready but why offer up a promo like that and then have no stock?????

Well, that's kind of the way I've been thinking...go online to sprint.com and they have the EVO plastered all over the site, links to "shop now", and then "sold out" when you actually get to the phone page.

The company i work with will get it in the coming weeks.. free shipping with a new sprint account and 10 bux off.. upgrade price is 9.95 for shipping bringing your total to $199..
