Why is the signal strength going up and down?

signal strength and moble data cycles.

I'll start out with 3g with 4 bars. Every couple hours the bars go up to 6 bars with 4g then slowly the bars will drop to zero and then my data will drop out. After a minute, the bars come back and I go back to normal. It does this every couple of hours all day. I'll be in the same spot for a long time and it will go out.

I have power cycled and checked my updates. Is there anything else I can do?
