Why is there a SIM CARD icon with the number 1 beside all my text messages?

Out of nowhere, my phone decided to add an annoying 1 beside every message in all my SMS threads. I want to get rid of it. Yes this phone has two SIM slots, but only SIM 1 is active with a card.

Anyone know how to get rid of it?

Phone: Samsung Galaxy J7
OS: Android 6.0.1

You got all those messages using SIM card #1. Android 6.0.1. Wait for an update and see if that goes away - or revert to a Lollipop ROM.

Already running the latest OS update - so not sure. Guess I will await the next update, unless someone else has a suggestion.
