Android Central Question

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy A5 and, every time I use an app, this blank App Widget shows up. There's nothing in it, and all I can do is close it. Is there a way to keep it from opening at all?

I think that you have installed an app but widget of that app doesn't support your phone. You need to find that app.

Are we talking here about app icons rather than widgets?

No, it actually says 'App Widget' in the top of the box, where it would say 'messages' or 'gmail'. It looks like an open app, but it's empty.
