Facebook app's news feed auto refresh problem

hi, I am using facebook on android. problem is the app refreshes news feed automatically after 5 or 10 mins and scrolls me back to the top. its so annoying.. everytime I scroll down watcing some post, and then it refreshes auto and scrolls to top.. so I have to see same posts repeatedly, cant go below them. I set 'refresh interval' to 'never' from the settings, but it doesnt work.. can anyone help?? thanks in advance...

Welcome to Android Central! Which version of Facebook are you running? I have 30.0.0.19.17 on my Nexus 5 running Android 5.1, and I no longer see the option to change the refresh interval.

Are you asking if anyone has a direct solution for the OP's question?

On my version of Facebook, I find that if there are new posts, the newsfeed icon at the upper left will show a notification badge, and I can tap it to go back to the top--but it won't do it automatically. I was hoping the OP would let us know which version of Facebook he or she is using.
