Swiftkey not working on Lollipop

Andriod Ver - 5.0
Swiftkey Ver - 5.0.5.95
Phone - Google Nexus 5 (32 gb)

I received the Lollipop update yesterday and since then have also updated Swiftkey. Swiftkey randomly stopped working this morning. When I try to type anywhere the keyboard doesn't open up, I've tried this on the Google search bar, Whatsapp, Snapchat and Notes and all had the same result. On going to the Swiftkey description page from the Input Settings, even the Swiftkey info stays for a few seconds and then it automatically closes. If i got to the settings from the Apps tab in Settings then I can view the app info. I switched to the Google Keyboard and everything is fine.

Please help.

Re: Swiftkey not working on Lollipop

I uninstalled and reinstalled SwiftKey to get it working. It now works for me, but it seems too laggy for my needs. Everytime I hit enter, it takes about 2-3 seconds for the keyboard to work again.

Google keyboard and Swype works almost perfectly fine AFAIK. I think I prefer SwiftKey just because I'm used to all of its functions, but I'm becoming increasingly accustomed to Swype and starting to like it, minus the longpress holdtime. SwiftKey offers 100 MS longpress, Swype only offers 250 ms, which is somewhat annoying.

Re: Swiftkey not working on Lollipop

The SwiftKey devs are pretty diligent, so I would guess that they'll have a fix out pretty soon. Make sure you let them know about your issues: hello@swiftkey.net

Re: Swiftkey not working on Lollipop

Mine works as usual. Didn't even do a fresh install just update to lollipop over kitkat

I flashed 5.0 onto my Nexus 5 and then reloaded all my Apps. SwiftKey works smooth and fast for me.

There is some discussion out here on the Web that updates via OTA mixes the two OS data and code together and can result in lag overall or to particular Apps.

Doing an Flash Update gives you a completely fresh clean OS and Apps and the phone and Apps should run buttery smooth.

I used Nexus Root Tool Kit to flash my phone, easy process with this free download to your PC;

UPDATE: SwiftKey has now been updated for Lollipop
