So, who then? Who can I get an update from without voiding my warranty?
Sounds like you answered your own question earlier when you said it's not on the list and your carrier should be giving you an update. If you have not been pushed one OTA, then, you have to wait until they give it to you (or worst case, they don't), or, do it yourself (which doesn't seem like an option since you don't want to void your warranty).
I would love to see ICS on my X2 (I'm tired of using ICS on my Prime and GB on my X2), and, I'm in the same boat as you, I don't want to void my warranty. If they push it (which I doubt they will), I'll get it, if not, I wont. That's just kinda how it is. Once my manufacturer warranty is up, and, I replace once through insurance, I will cancel my TEC from Verizon, and, put ICS on there myself if I have to. Until then, there isn't really much I can do about it. And, it doesn't seem like there is much you can do either.
I will mention though that I spoke with a CSR at a Verizon store when getting my phone replaced through warranty one time, and, he asked me if I had rooted the phone. I said no. Then I asked if I reverted the phone back, would they know, and, they said, probably not (doesn't seem like they check that thoroughly, that's what I got from talking with him). He seemed like he was being honest with me and would gain nothing from trying to trick me into rooting just to void my warranty. I still wont do it, but, just thought I'd throw that out there.
