Why pay $200 for 512GB internal?

Personally I've always been using sd cards, yes I know they can fail, but a few times it saved me from losing stuff when my phone would mess up. That and I know myself I trade phones in way too much so for me the extra money isn't worth it. I just bought a 256 Evo select card for 34 dollars. My other Evo select card has been good to me over the two + years I've used it. And I'm only using 48 gigs of the space in my note 10+. So for me it makes sense to get the 128. When Samsung glitched or whatever the day you could preselect and it was showing it only costing an extra 100 to upgrade the 20+ to 512 I was all for it, but now I'm like naw I'm good. My card I usually store all my photos and music mostly.

On an ATT phone the Ultra is not available with 512 GB in either color, so it's not an option with that carrier version.

for me personally, it's not an issue of whether or not SD cards may fail, but of course, lost data is a serious issue for everyone, including myself, should an SD card fail.

for me, the issue of getting more internal memory has to do with the fact that most apps REQUIRE that you use internal memory. the few that do allow storage on SD cards often have hiccups when you do that. as such, i had to revert back to storage internally for those affected apps.

after years of issues with trying to MOVE storage from internal storage to external SD cards, i've given up. so much effort, headaches, and why? all to save $200.

this time around, 512gb for me.

I only bother with sd cards as a way to store music locally on my Android phones. I don't really trust them to store anything else. If a card corrupts I always have the music on my laptop, in the cloud, and on portable hard drives so I won't actually lose anything.
