Why People Over Look LG G2

plain and simple: lack of consumer awareness. aside from "tech savvy" users who browse forums and tech blogs (i.e., everyone posting on android central), how many "regular users" were even aware of this? keep in mind that even after the launch, many of us walked into Verizon / ATT stores and even the reps there had no clue about the phone. no dedicated display. no big billboards.

TV ads and other stuff came a little later, but certainly not to the level of a Galaxy or iphone launch. i don't think the buttons, or anything else has as big of a single impact as the lack of general advertising.

Really, I hate to admit that I have been watching more TV than I should and I have never seen an LG commercial... maybe I zone out more than I thought during commercials?

As others have mentioned... Its overlooked because its not HTC or Samsung which is what everyone is used to. Others have had bad experience with LG phones a looong time ago. Ive never owned a non-HTC smartphone... ever. Ive had HTC since windows mobile 5.0. I preordered the LGG2 and am hoping I can get used to the UI changes.

Also.. LG has done a bad job at advertising the phone. They say nothing about the mazing battery life... they say noting about how its similar in size to the S4 but with a bigger screen... they don't say anything bout its top of the line specs. It just looks like another phone to less tech savy people.

yea true they over look it because its not a big known phone brand.

but to be honest the reason why i got the lg g2 is because i wanted something different i was sick with samsung plus the button placement caught my eye.
im probably one of the few that thought the button placement would be success.

and with advertizements. i think the lg g2 was the only lg phone that gets advertized a lot on tv lol. all i see every 5 minutes. that dam song is stuck in my head...
but they should show off the phone move on tv other than the camera.

LG is getting better, slowly but surely. If their UI wasn't so busy, I'd be very interested in the G2.

I'm a Samsung guy myself and the LG G2 has made me a convert. This is the first time I've ever left the Galaxy S and Note line, and I'm loving it so far. LG Android phones have never piqued my interest. The first LG phone that made me look twice was the Optimus G and the Nexus 4. People forget that Samsung didn't always make good Android phones either. Remember the Samsung Moment that never got upgraded? How about the first Galaxy S that took eons to upgrade to Froyo and Gingerbread on US carriers? The only company that has always made solid Android devices (high end, at least) is HTC with the Evo, G1, Nexus 1, etc.

The bottom line is that the LG G2 is the best phone I've ever owned. Period. The performance is rock solid, the screen is incredible, the camera is great, and everything just works as it should. Anyone overlooking the LG G2 because it doesn't say Samsung or Apple is doing themselves a great disservice as it is arguably the best all around device on the market, for those who don't want huge devices like the Note 3, tiny devices devices like the iPhone,,or maybe dislike TouchWiz.

I love the Note 3 and I've always loved the added software that TouchWiz provided, but Samsung doesn't know how to optimize their software like LG does. The Galaxy S4, Note 3, and Note 10.1 still have lag and hiccups here and there because Touchwiz isn't optimized. LG has most of the same tweaks with no lag, running on the same exact SoC because they optimized it. All LG needs to do is step their game up and updating their software in a timely manner.
