Why the spec hate...?

Been looking a lot at spec comparison charts for the "big 3". Starting to wonder why people dont think the SGN has bleeding edge hardware?

1. TI OMAP4460 at 1.2 GHz is right there, 2nd best in clock speed but 1st on Verizon in overall performance in my humble opinion

2. ICS immediately without delay, same with all other OS updates including JellyBean or whatever

3. HD Super AMOLED at 4.6" is best on Verizon, again arguably but right there

4. Camera is a dead horse, but its competitive. Wont rehash MP etc.

5. Coming soon, announced. Who really knows how far away anything else really might be. Its Verizon...

6. No bloatware. Anyone who has played or had a previous Verizon smartphone knows their adoration for it.

A rant I know, but what do you guys think? ICS is the star of course, but aren't these specs right there on Verizon, and could be for a while....?

I agree. The 720p display alone should have had the industry talking, but it isn't an iPhone so...

I'll have fun with my truth as you have fun with your shenanigans.

Poopai, you see, you're not getting it.

Of course there will be phones coming out soon that will be better than the GNex. However, they're all "just another phone" like the rest of the Android armies of phones. You can have the most powerful spec, and it still means nothing. Why? Simply because it is not a Nexus.

When the Nexus S came out, it was the same situation as it is now. It was a single core phone released at the verge of dual core era. However until today, Nexus S is still one of the best experience you can get on Android.

In Android world, its easy to get carried away by all the powerful specs, however, Nexus is the only line of phones that you will get the "pure Google experience". Unlike someone who drool only on paper specs, which btw gets outdated real soon anyways, to me and probably majority of Gnex future owners, it is the experience that counts. Thus, GNex will be the only phone that matters until the next Nexus hits us. That is all.

Truth. Fact. But this guy won't believe that, he tries to compare the performance of an OG Droid to the Nexus S, lol

Just read through the thread. Pretty sad, seems like Poopai is just dying to start a fight. The thing is, maybe hardware is important for him. Most other people realize that hardware really isn't that important. Quad-core or dual-core, the experience you get while using the phone to do everyday activities is going to be almost exactly the same. I don't notice any lag when sending text messages or emails or doing really anything on dual-core phones, so a quad-core phone isn't going to make my experience any better. Sure, Tegra 3 might increase battery life, but the battery life increase isn't enough to justify not buying a new phone right now. For most people, they would rather be happy with the overall phone than to have the latest, fastest new thing. I could wait for a quad-core phone, or I could get a phone that will likely have the best user experience and software out there. I would rather have that than higher benchmark scores, but that's just me.
