Why update?

We get it... you rooted and hacked and feel very pleased with yourself. You get stuff for free that others pay for. We are just stupid to stay with a stock phone with stock updates because a few people have reported minor difficulties. Then again, we are not as smart as you, so we probably can't figure out what you've managed to do anyway.

No offense to the OP, but that's basically what the initial post sounds like.

"Hey look at me! My phone is rooted and customized to the hilt! I'm superior to all of you running a stock phone!"

If you're already running a customized version of 2.2 of course you don't need to upgrade (downgrade?) to stock 2.2. But for those that are not running a custom ROM for whatever reason obviously will want to move up to stock 2.2 w/Sense to take advantage of the performance enhancements and handful of new features.

OP your opinion on going from cm6 to sense 2.2 being a downgrade is just that... an opinion...

Other people on here do prefer Sense, Its nice yea slow yea but people like it...

Personally I'm on CM6 and love it... Does what i need with non of the fluff...


Now everyone else... you need to kill each other in threads for simple questions being asked...

There seems to be a ton of bugs in the new froyo update. I have rooted rom with CM6 RC1 and I have no problems - no need for pdanet built in works. 30fps unlocked. Not nearly as bloated or laggy from sense.

Just... does not make sense to me (no pun intended). Why upgrade? Seems like a major downgrade to me.

You did "upgrade" to a rom YOU like, others prefer the std either .3 or .6 2.2 version.

And also I have no bugs in either the .3 or .6 versions (3 x evo's)

I certainly saw nowhere where he was coming off as "Hey Look at me" "I'm better than all of you"

For me Flash 10.1 was the many reason to update. I visit many online sites that require flash.

This alone will make my brother-in-law a new Evo owner...

I'm not sure the point of this thread. If you're running cyan 6 then you already are running froyo. It's a froyo ROM. So of course if you decided to go down the road of using custom ROMs rather than stock, then of course you wouldn't want to switch to the stock upgrade. I'm confused...
