Why won't music work on my new sd card?

I was using a 16GB SD card and it works fine but I was running out of space so bought 512GB SD card which only play's about 30 songs out of 437 songs. I have formatted it, downloaded different music players, mp3 converters and they still don't work.

Can anyone help?

Well, I'm sorry to tell you that most likely you got a dud, which is why the songs won't play (unless you mean an actual SD card...like full-sized, but don't know of any phones or tablets that would still take those). 512GB microSD cards are still not commercially available.

The first microSD card with that capacity is launching in February.

Welcome to Android Central! Counterfeit cards continue to be a problem. You could try installing SD Insight to see if the card is what it says it is (although this app might not run correctly in Nougat or above).
