Phone won't charge even after buying a new battery and charger (please help)

So in October my phone started to have battery problems and it has gotten to the point where my phone had to be kept turned off for it to charge. Last week it stopped being able to charge completely, and so I figured it was a battery problem. So I bought one as well as a new charger. But it still won't work? The port isn't even loose or anything. It's probably a hardware problem, yeah, but is there anything I can do?

Also, at the start of this whole situation it would start charging up to a certain point while turned on, but it all went downhill from there. It also gets pretty warm when i turn it on, after the battery's conserved some charge.

It can be a number of things, from the charging circuit just being busted, a loose connector inside, a short circuit somewhere in the battery leads... When it comes to that kind of issue, I'm sorry but the best way to deal with it is to take it in to a repair or service center.

Just to make sure, have you tried your battery in another phone? Just to make sure that you didn't get a bad battery.

So, it seems to me there are two problems. First one was with the old battery that was overheating. The second one might be cold solder caused by the first one. You should definitely have someone check you phone.

I don't have another phone that the battery would fit in, though.

They could help you with that at a service center, too... before you leave yours, just to check. A quick 5-minute charge should be enough, so I don't think they'll say no.
