why wont my droid stay off?

I cant get my Droid to stay powered off. I turn it off and plug it in and it turns on. Is there a setting I need to change to get it to stay off?

It is supposed to do that. Try plugging it in then turning it off.

That won't work, either. The Droid is designed to stay on while it's plugged in. If you turn it off it will turn itself right back on again.

The Droid is designed to stay on while charging, that is the only way the charging circuit with built in overcharge protection can work.

A smart phone is pretty much designed to be left on 24/7. That's the only way that it can constantly receive emails and notifications.

The Droid does not sleep. Droid does stay awake however so as to keep a vigilant watch over you.
