Why won't my Droid turbo 2 play music?

I have music synced to my device and after trying several music apps they all say "song empty". Is my device blocking the music I've downloaded?

Welcome to Android Central! Where are you syncing the music from? Don't use Windows Media Player--that doesn't work well with Android.

How did you sync music to the device? Did you copy the mp3's to the phone or use another method? Which applications have you used? Really need more info.

What file format? Android will not recognize .wma.

That's not true. A good app like Power Amp will play .wma's just fine.

But the stock Music app typically won't recognize WMA.

I agree, PowerAmp is a good buy for music enthusiasts who prefer to keep their music stored locally.
