AC Question

I was attempting to download an app from the google play store and then my phone turned off randomly. It was at full charge when this occurred. Now the phone doesn't react to any button presses and will not turn on. It also doesn't light up in any way when plugged into the charger. What do I do?

I held all 4 buttons I have a blue screen saying DOWNLOADING is this what happens. It's been like this fo nearly 10 mins also saying DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET

I have black screen with blue notification on. I held all 4 buttons now I have blue screen with a big down arrow saying DOWNLOADING BUT ITS BEEN LIJE THIS FOR OVER 10 mins

This is so goofy its not true. The S6 with all the hype just goes blank on you and you like have to press four buttons at once to "reboot"?? Sounds like doing the old Control Alt Delete maneuver with windows. Well I tried it and it worked but this never happens with my six times cheaper Infinix!!

Verizon just ordered my second S6. Phone keeps losing it sound and then when I try to reboot, it freezes and becomes a brick. So far, not impressed with this phone. Maybe the third time is the charm:-\

Does anyone know WHY it's shutting off?? I have the solution but still feel like a brand new phone (2 of them so it's not a lemon issue) would shut down on its own so frequently. Only happened twice in 2 years on my old s4. Shut down at least a dozen times in the last 3 weeks on this one.

Ugh, thank you so much irok2000! I woke up in the middle of the night and wanted to check my phone. It was on and charging when i went to bed. But when I tried turning it on, it was off, green LED saying it was fully charged was on, and it would not turn on. I tried just holding the power and home button like they always say to do on iPhones and that didnt work. I was freaking out a little since I havent even had this phone for 2 weeks yet. But holding the volume buttons, power and home button worked for me! Thank you so much!!

This didn't work for me. The only thing my phone displays are horizontal purple lines. Any suggestions PLEASE!

You can get to the same restart screen by pressing the power and volume down key, you don't have to press all 4. Also this is just to get the phone back on, it doesn't fix the underlying problem of it just randomly not going back on. If anyone has an actual fix can they please post? This is happening to me almost everyday now and has made me late for work since I use my phone for an alarm. I need a better fix than restarting the damn thing!

My S6 decided that it would quit in the night. I tried the press 4 buttons trick described within this thread but did not get the option to reset. It just wiped it. Very frustrating!! Hate to say it but I want my GS4 back.

Thank you for the fix, it worked! --and I was able to restart my phone. But all my stuff (contacts/text message history) and pics were erased--they are saved on the cloud but i don't know how sync...

Thanks!
:D

Yep the 4 button trick worked! Cheers mate. Was just about to send it back to my phone provider for replacement!

What the hell is wrong with Samsung? Paid a fortune for it, and apart from my misadventure with Oppo, this is by far the buggiest phone Ive ever owned.

Mine randomly died on 80% charge and after attempting the 4 buttons (+/-/POWER/HOME) I still got no response from the phone. The only way to get it to turn back on or work at all was to plug it into my PC and restart my phone while still connected. A minor setback for me but at least it still works
