AC Question

I was attempting to download an app from the google play store and then my phone turned off randomly. It was at full charge when this occurred. Now the phone doesn't react to any button presses and will not turn on. It also doesn't light up in any way when plugged into the charger. What do I do?

here’s how you troubleshoot Samsung Galaxy S6 that won’t turn on…

STEP 1: CHARGE YOUR PHONE

STEP 2: TRY TURNING ON THE PHONE

STEP 3: TRY BOOTING THE PHONE IN SAFE MODE

STEP 4: TRY BOOTING THE S6 EDGE IN RECOVERY MODE

STEP 5: SEND THE PHONE IN FOR REPAIR OR CHECK UP

Hi my little brother has a Gs6 and we already did the 4 button trick then the the three button trick and it finally worked but while i was helping him he pressed a button and meessed it up again is there another we can do

You are a life saver! I run my own business. Without my cell I am out of business. I plugged in my S6 last night at 15% charge and got up this morning to a dead paperweight. I was in a complete panic! Called AT&T and they didn't know how to fix it. Found your recommendation, gave it a shot and 30 seconds later, no more heart attack.
Thank you!

Tried all 4 button; didn't work.

Tried Vol -, power, and home; didn't work.

It was on the wireless charger last night and when I tried to turn it on this morning, nothing. Executed the above steps and the only change is that the flashing blue LED stopped flashing. Perhaps the battery died instead of charging properly. Will charge, try again, and post results.:(

Any other suggestions?

I did the pressing of the 4 buttons, volume plus and minus, home key and power on key and it worked. Thank you for the information. I don'd understand why this should happen, but I am happy it can be resolved simply.

The four-button thing worked BUT erased my whole phone.

Looks like SmartSwatch sync wasn't as automatic as I thought -- it seems to be dated two weeks ago. Luckily, I pulled all my photos off my phone as I took them, and everything else should be easy (though time consuming!!!!) to replace.

If anyone can figure out why this happens, I'd really like to know. I do not want to go through it again!

Thank you so much, just got my S6 4 days ago and shut off on me, took it to a Sprint store and they did not know what was going on, found this post and now have my phone working again. thank you so much.

this phone is brand new samsung Galaxy S6 edge , had it for three weeks and today i had to send it back to samsung customer service in nj because i can not deal with T-mobile customer servicesuck! anyways i woke up and missed my alarm to work to find a $900 samsung Galaxy S6 edge phone compleatly dead dark screen with only a green LED light on Ps. my bumbass paid full upfront for this phone so my only hope right now lies on Samsung getting their ****tty Overpriced samsung Galaxy S6 edge phone to work again.

DONT buy samsung Galaxy S6 edge

Woke up this morning. Phone COMPLETELY dead. Thought might of had condensation water damage from being really cold overnight.(havent heard of this happening but cant give a reason for phone to die) Press and hold home, power, volume down for 5 seconds and phone swithced on! Gives warning for custom rom installation (use volume down to cancel) boots up. fixed! Kept all my data too. Just saved me so much time and money.
THANK YOU.

I just got my phone 2 months ago and this is the second time something went wrong with my phone. The first time the finger print didn't work so I had to wipe my phone clean. This time I left my phone on because my daugther is over a friends house and if I get a call late that night I would be able to answer. Yes holding all of the buttons worked for me and I still have everything on my phone.:D

None of the fixes worked for me. The screen is black and the blue led is lit, it charges, it acts like it's going to restart, but it's paperweight status. :(

Just try holding the power button and both the volume up and down for 7 seconds. That's what worked for mine when all that worked was the the blue led indicator.
