Why won't my gear S go through a factory reset after I hard reset it.

I've tried to connect my gear S with all of my phone's and it says that it is not compatible. I tried doing a hard reset but the watch does not complete the reset process. It only tells me to install the gear app, which is obviously installed already and updated.
