why won't my home screen wallpaper on my android phone change even when I am changing it ?

[Android Central Question]

So I am trying to change my home screen wallpaper from the default one , to the one from my gallery , but it isn't changing . I click on "set as home screen wallpaper" but my wallpaper is the same as before (the default one) . It's the first time it's happening .I don't know if it has something to do with it , but I downloaded the app "my icon" to change my phone theme (before the problem with my wallpaper) and I already deleted the app . I also did reboot my phone but nothing has changed . Sorry for my English , and thanks in advance .

Is there a search bar in your system settings? If so, type "reset" or "preferences" there and see what options come up.

Ugh, I wish Android manufacturers wouldn't take it upon themselves to remove basic system features.

Thank you so much ,I am actually not sure what fixed it , I tried to enter the safe mode , but for some reason I couldn't , but after that it just somehow worked , now I can change my wallpaper , really thank you so much

Excellent! Glad you managed to fix the problem and thanks for the follow up. As you said, it's possible that your My Icon app created some conflict that was solved after trying to boot into safe mode.
