Why won't my Hotmail emails load?

Recently there was an update to email function. Since then my emails don't open in my Hotmail account. I have tried deleting and reloading the account. Nope! The inbox appears and the orange line goes from left to right for a bit. My email list appears as it should, but when i go to open an email, the email opens, the title of the email is at the top as usual, the orange line goes from left to right over n over n over..., and the body of the email never opens.

Yes, I realize Hotmail is ancient. But it is where EVERYONE knows to get a hold of me.

Have you already tried removing the Hotmail account and adding it back?

Outlook from Microsoft runs Hotmail now. I assume you have the app installed? In any case, I'd chat with the devs about this...
