Why wont my huawei p8 lite make phone calls?

My hauwei p8 lite doesn't allow me to call other contacts. I can dial them but before the ringing tone even starts the call ends. How do I get it to actually make the call? Why isn't it working?

What network and where are you located?

I used to have a similar problem when I was on Sprint and would forget to dial 1 and the area code for a number outside my local area (or, was it the other way around?). Anyway, it may be a dialing error on your part.
