Why won't my Moto G lock when idle?

I have a moto G, when i leave the phone sitting not in use it doesn't automatically lock itself. The display will just stay on. The only way to lock the screen is by pressing the power button. Can anyone please tell me how to set it so the screen will lock when I leave it sitting? Thanks

Go to settings => Display => Sleep => here u'll see a list of time, select one.

I have done this. I had set that to one minute but the phone still won't lock when idle, is there something else I'm doing wrong??

There are other places to set the screen to never go off, like during charging, or for a certain app. That would prevent it from locking.

Otherwise I'd contact the carrier's tech support people (in the store, if your carrier has stores with tech support).

hello there
yeah so i was experiencing this like for the past one week on my dads moto g(3rd gen).
after repeatedly clicking the time and changing all the settings related to locking, nothing worked .
so basically you just have to restart your phone. i did this while charging i powered it off and wait till the battery icon showed and powered it on.
seems to be working fine now!
