Why won't my Nexus 5 work?

nexus 5 won't work?

my nexus 5 won't turn on. when I plug it in all it does is blink red. wont stop and cannot turn it on. if I do finally get the charging screen and try to turn it on it will say optimizing then shut back off. help!!

Welcome to Android Central! The battery might be dying. Leave it plugged into a wall outlet, undisturbed, for at least 4-6 hours, then try powering on again.
