Why won't my phone screen turn on, charging difficulties?

phone screen wont turn on, chrging difficulties?

ive literally posted bout this three times. A while ago my phone decided to not work, screen wont turn on (phone is dead but wont give me charging screen) but the notification light blinks.
I don't know what to do, i'm very frustrated, i dont know what i can afford considering christmas is coming up.
i've been told that it's the charging port, but last time this happened my phone was freezing, i slept on it and it worked in the morning when it was warmed up.
i dont know if this is a manufacturing error or something i did?

Sounds like a dead port to me, combined with the battery itself being dead (and of course unable to charge). I've been seeing a lot of similar problems as yours on here lately, and I went through two M8's with faulty USB ports myself. I'm thinking it's just a poor design, which you'd think they'd make sure was robust because it's so vital to a metal phone with an integrated battery.
