Why won't my screen lock when the button is pushed?

screen wont lock when button is pushed?

I just recently rooted my phone its a samsung galaxy s5 sport and after completing the root a short time after my button wont lock the screen anymore, if you hold it down itll still bring up the shutdown options but just wont lock the screen, looked but apparently im the only person with this problem

It also happened to me where I press the power button and still won't lock my phone, I have an Motorola, maybe if depends on your wireless carrier
