My Acer Iconia A500 tablet ran a game (a horror game called "Eyes") and got left on. It didn't go to sleep and froze on the game screen. Upon shutting it down with a long power button press, it is stuck on the Acer or Android boot screens. It stayed like this for a couple weeks until I've gotten time to work on it.
I have done a hardware reset and factory user data reset. Still does not go past booting screens. I have tried multiple SD Card update.zip files for ICS 4.0.3 during boot using the 'Power + Volume down' command.
It loads onto the Android with the rotating polyhedron in its belly and will sometimes randomly have a progress bar that gets stuck at either 25% or 90%, but more commonly moves onto an Android laying down with an open belly and a red triangle with an exclamation point above it.
Obviously the file doesn't work or the tablet can't read it, and it stays on that screen until it eventually shuts itself down.
I have no idea what else to try besides a hammer. Anything is appreciated. Maybe a better ICS update.zip file or how to get the files I already have to be accepted? Or even a downgrade to Honeycomb 3.1 or 3.2?
