When I upgraded from an iPhone 4 to an S3, my wife wanted my iPhone. Verizon was happy with that, and transferred her phone number and her billing to the iPhone. I think that they were especially happy since they were able to switch us both from unlimited data plan to 2GB data plans. They love to do that, and will use any opportunity to do so.

On the screen size, I suggest that your wife handle a bunch of phones with different screen sizes, at the Verizon store and also handle and use her friend's phones...if I were upgrading now, I might go to a Note 2 instead of S3 myself. But the Note seemed really large when I got the S3 (and the S3 was a lot larger than the iPhone 4 *smile*). It may be that she has to own and use a phone a bunch before she knows what size suits her best, but there are several different sizes to choose from as you know. I guess my point is that what she thinks she wants before she has a phone may differ from what she wants after a little while. As Verizon extends the upgrade period, and they just extended it by 4 months, it's more important to make a good decision up front. You'll be living with that phone as a bunch of newer phones come out, so picking a phone that you feel good about and will serve your needs means more.

Your wife didn't have to lose unlimited data if all she did was put your phone on her line. That does not cause you to lose unlimited data.

I'm pretty sure that it was because my wife didn't have a smart phone before that, so didn't have a plan to grandfather. So I think that my post above was misleading when I said that they switched both of us, they switched me, but my wife of course got a new plan *sigh*. Anyways, only my daughter has an unlimited plan at this point.

Well what you should have done is used the upgrade on your wife's line to get the S3 then switched your iPhone 4 to her line and switched the S3 to your unlimited line. That would have kept the unlimited on your line.

The only reason I am pointing this out is because if your daughter is still on unlimited and you are all together on a family share plan, she can keep unlimited if you transfer her upgrade to either your line or your wife's and then do the switch. There are threads with all the details on the Verizon forum.

The reason there are no threads about the Lucid is simple. Lucid doesn't have any problems. I read alot of these threads posted and all the new High end devices have issues. That really makes me want to give up my Lucid. For a mid-level device, the Lucid can compete with the big dogs. If I want professional grade pictures........I'll use my camera and not my phone. I'm sorry but no camera on any smartphone is better than the real deal. Smartphone cameras all serve there purpose. Just remember one thing before bashing on me, lol! Different strokes for different folks.

AxlMyk,
I'd actually vote for keeping her on a dumb phone
Once you start down this path, there's no going back. I'm still sorry that I let my wife pick out a smartphone when her old dumb phone died - one thing led to another and I ended up with a smartphone and then the older daughter ended up with a smartphone - and then the damn Verizon bill became the second largest bill in the household next to the mortgage!
Oh, sure, the phones are neat, and now you can't imagine how you could ever get along without one, and there's all of this cool stuff you've learned, and all of these great people on the forums (well, except for me) - but really, these things are too damned expensive.
Just providing an alternate viewpoint.
As far as all the rest goes - just give her your phone and get the sweetest phone you can get in July :D
