Is there any apps or settings that one can check to see if their wifi is active when the screen is turned off? I have a suspicion that my wifi is not being used when in standby. Thanks.
Mine doesn't appear to disconnect , meaning it's not reconnecting when I turn my screen back on. However, I'd like to see it it is truly connected when screen is off. I dont trust gsam as it shows wifi on but even when off it shows it as always on in the charts.Mine has recently begun turning off wifi at night, when I plug it in to charge and go to bed. I'm not sure what is going on.
Double check power saving mode , and if you have phone restart enabled at night for optimization.I have to manually turn my wifi back on in the morning. It is really annoying.

Turn off data, leave on wifi. Send yourself a test email from another device. Is there any apps or settings that one can check to see if their wifi is active when the screen is turned off? I have a suspicion that my wifi is not being used when in standby. Thanks.
Thanks, I wouldnt have thought of that in a million years .Turn off data, leave on wifi. Send yourself a test email from another device.
What do you mean?Sort of - don't have power saving enabled for WiFi. If you do, it stops when the screen is off.
If you have WiFi set to power saving, WiFi shuts off when the screen does.
And the original question was about WiFi shutting off when the screen does, so ...Yeah it should
If you see my post who I quoted, not the OPAnd the original question was about WiFi shutting off when the screen does, so ...
No it doesn't. I just checked this. I have the option to analyze wifi and save power enabled in developer settings ON. I did what someone mentioned. Turned off mobile data, turned screen off and sent a WhatsApp message from wife's phone to mine and it came through.Sort of - don't have power saving enabled for WiFi.
