WiFi calling is coming.....

The fact that it is available as an hidden settings option in EMUI 5 tells us Huawei/Honor is working on this feature! As you might know, this is one of the most asked feature request - I see it everywhere, reditt/XDA and even in reviews that cite this as a cons.

So, to know more information and play with this setting, here is the XDA thread.

NOTE: Enabling WiFi calling doesn't really do much. It is also carrier dependant. I tested with my TMobile and enabling this option doesn't do anything. So we will need to wait for Honor to push more updates.

I am on t-mobile and I thought wifi calling was working because bold HD shows when making calls.

I believe that is the TMobile VOLTE call and not WiFi calling.

Wifi calling is useless in the united States in an unlocked phone. It is 100% the carrier. They want you to buy phones from them so they black list wifi calling on not branded phones. There are some exceptions out there but not many. If you have AT&T you will never have wifi calling on an unlocked phone. Even the new mate 9 doesn't work with wifi calling or volte.

You should clarify your statement that this applies to unlocked Android phones. WiFi Calling worked fine in my unlocked iPhone when I was with ATT and works fine with TMobile too with whom I am currently with.

You should clarify your statement that this applies to unlocked Android phones. WiFi Calling worked fine in my unlocked iPhone when I was with ATT and works fine with TMobile too with whom I am currently with.

Literally just said the carrier is to blame for unlocked phones and wifi calling not working. Also last I checked I am on android forum so I fail to see the relevance of bringing iPhone into this.
