Wifi downloads pause when screen locks?

Very annoying issue I've noticed in all roms, may be just with ics, but my wifi downloads always pause when screen locks. If I want it to finish I have to keep the phone awake. Currently on cna 1.2, anyone find a way to allow wifi downloads to resume while phone is locked?

Try going to Settings > WiFi > Options (three dots in the lower right corner of phone) > Advanced. Change the "Keep WiFi on during sleep" to "Always."

Thx but already knew that and I've never seen it on anything but "always on" after flashing various roms. Dunno why this is, this is my first android after using apple for a few years and never had a problem with downloads downloading after screen locks.

What if you set that option to something else, back out, then change the setting back to Always On? Maybe it will rewrite the config file and kickstart it into working.

Seems odd though, my nexus continues to download when the screen is off. If you have access to your router, can you see the phone drop off the network? Might be something to try...figure out the IP address of your phone, then on your PC, ping it with the command:

ping -t IP_Address

Then turn the screen off. If the pings stop completing, then you know that the wifi is turning off because of that setting. I wonder if it's a hardware issue since others' phones don't seem to do that normally.
