Wifi indicator missing

The last couple of days, my HTC Inspire 4G is missing the WiFi indicator. Changed theme to the default (AT&T), restarted phone, but nothing works. WiFi does work, but no indicator is showing up in the notification area. I am running Android 2.2 (no root).

I see you say WIFI works but are you sure you are connected with a WIFI signal? The indicator only shows up when you are actually connected to WIFI so if it is working but not connected there is no indicator visible.

According to the HTC Inspire PDF manual indicator should appear if "Wi-Fi is on and wireless networks are available". This means that even if I am not connected, the indicator should appear (otherwise how would I know if WiFi is succesfully turned on?).

Well I only use WIFI at home so the only time I see my indicator is when I am connected. I also have my Juice Defender set to turn WIFI on/off when I enter a zone that I have established a connection and saved it.

Are you sure you are in an area where WIFI connections are available? If you have it on yet there is no WIFI available then I do not think you would see anything.

I don't know where you saw that, but there are actually 2 different WiFi icons. The one next to the network icon (H+) will only show up if you're connected to a WiFi network. The other one will be on the left side of the notification bar and have an exclimation point next to it, indicating WiFi networks are available. If you're neither connected to nor have WiFi networks available, there will be no indicator, even if WiFi is turned on.

I have a Samsung Lite, I'm at home and connected to WIFI....I am connected, however the wireless indicator in the upper left hand corner (blue), is all of a sudden missing....I am connected tho
