why can not a galaxy nexus l700 connect to a invisabe ssid ?

my old htc evo 4g worked just fine.
my kindle fire works just fine.
my laptops works just fine.

as soon as I turn the ssid on the router to invisible and turn on the wifi on the GN it cant't connect !

is this a problem with ICS ?

I don't know why your Gnex is not working, but the truth is disabling SSID broadcast does not really buy you any security. Anyone who really knows what they are doing can use one of dozens of scanners to see your router anyway.

Your best security is to use the highest level of encryption your devices support and a very good wifi password.

Thanks but thats not the question.

Why can other android devices with older android systems connect to a invisible ssid and
the Galaxy Nexus l700 with ICS can't ?

Did you manually add the SSID for the A/P, or did you switch the A/P to visible, connect, and then switch to invisible?

I know on some older phones you had to do the latter. If you did it that way, try deleting the network and then manually entering all the information via "add network" while the SSID is invisible. Just a thought.
