Wifi keeps turning itself on!?!

Reset network settings.
Go to Settings - Back Up And Reset - Reset Network Settings.

Go into mobile network settings disable "Connection Optimizer" & problem will be solved

i kno mobile network settings is usually in the menu..iv personally seen it but its not in mine nor can i find the connection optimizer.. and of course when u search optimizer in the settings menu its clueless.. any ideas?? words cant even describe the frustration the auto on wifi bull**** causes me with trying to listen to xfinity or netflix while im workin near the house, when i get close to the house the dam thing tries switchin over but of course never does it succesfully so i have to stop what im doin take the phone out gloves off all kind of other bull**** sometimes just to push play to have it do the same bull**** 5 minutes later its beyond frustrating i feel like an ***** askin for somethin that should b so dam simple..

I think I have the answer.

Besides disabling Wifi and turning off the "automatically turn-on Wifi", there's a setting in the Apps & Notifications section.

For the Pixel 2 XL phone, purchased through Google.com (should apply to the carrier one too).

Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications

At the very bottom, expand Advanced

Then at the very bottom, expand "Special App access"

There's a section called "Wifi Control"

In there, go to each app and de-activate Wifi control.

I think there is where individual apps may be turning on Wifi itself, even though you have it turned off at the system level.

Thank you so much. I was looking for the app that was turning on my wifi. I think this will solve my issue as all the other wifi settings were turned off - wifi scanning, etc.
