I've made a post about this before but got no responses so I'll try it in a different forum.. Simply my wi-fi doesn't turn on. It flashes when I try to turn it on, and when I go into settings it says "turning on", but it doesn't.
I've tried factory resetting, flashing custom ROMs and Rooting my phone and looking at all the files. Tried also some third party apks... PLEASE HELP ME!!!
I have a LG G2 D803, canadian version.

Extra info:
- phone has bootloop problem it when through a cycle of 4-6 reboots once and the last time the wifi didn't work.
- going into advanced wifi settings, the MAC address is unavailable..

Sounds like a hardware issue to me. Maybe your WiFi chip has gone bad :(, especially if there's no MAC address available.

Yeah, I'm with my friend Spook here.... it sounds like it could be a hardware problem. That behavior is typical of a phone that can't communicate with the wifi radio... or the software the drives it.

You've already done a factory reset, loading custom ROMs, etc.... if the problem persists through all that, that's a hardware problem my friend.... and there's probably nothing you can do to fix it.

Hold on now... don't go jumping to conclusions by assuming that it is the phone's hardware...or the dreaded Factory Reset...

I have had this happen to me in the past as well and, while I am sure that my phone is partially to blame, at home, the issue is with our main WiFi router. Also, if you have Comcast, Xfinity has a WiFi issue connecting too. Xfinity is great, but sometimes it's the problem too.

So, what can you do? I would suggest rebooting your router if possible. I have also found that cleaning the memory of my phone with a program like Clean Sweep helps my device work better too.

Delete all of your saved WiFi networks on the phone and then turn off your WiFi detection on your phone for an hour. Turn off your phone and restart it, turn on your WiFi detection again and connect to your desired router.

Also, I don't know why this has worked for me, but I will turn off all of the apps which I don't need running in the background, remove my cover and don't touch it overnight, then I wake up and the LG phone pharie visits me and I am connected again.

Patience, trial and error, but don't do a factory reset if you can avoid it. It's a ton of trial and error, yes, it bites, but every time this happens in the future, you will know what to do.

It's one of those necessary evils. Have fun.

I think I've had the same thing happen to my G2.
Just a few weeks ago the wifi on my G2 stopped working. It gets stuck when trying to turn it on and won't show any WiFi routers at all in the list. If I try to change configuration settings on WiFi, the phone reboots to the LG screen.
Seems like the phone is on it's last leg.

I'll probably upgrade soon to a new phone. Was hoping to make this phone last a full 3 years, but it looks like I'll be a few months shy of that.

The Samsung S7 is looking good. My wife has one and likes hers.
I'm surprised that the S7 hasn't dropped in price yet, though. With the new iPhone out that is priced cheaper than the S7, and the negative Note 7 battery press, I'm hoping Samsung drops the price of the S7 soon to try to lure people away from choosing an Apple phone.

The same on my LG G2
It is a TMobile phone
I've had it for a couple years and the last month or 2 WiFi sometimes does not connect, it gets stuck in a stupid "Turning WiFi on" status with the wifi icon flashing in the status bar
Any solution to this? Or throw away the phone?
Thanks
