Wifi Problems on Eris

I think my HTC Droid Eris is causing problems on my wifi network. As soon as it's connected my network starts running extremely slow and I get a message on my laptop saying there's an IP Address conflict. I've tried restarting the router and going into the DHCP. The DHCP said they have different IP's and as soon as I turn the Droid's wifi off the message goes away and my speeds normal again. I was wondering if anybody was having the same issue as me?

I have had no problems with mine so far works good. Did you try another WiFi connection?

Only on public wifi networks where I have no way of telling if it's slowing other computers down.
